Amber Alert

Holy poop! Intense movie. Super intense. For an independent movie I would say this was actually pretty good. Filmed in the style of Blair Witch, the whole movie is filmed from a carried camera from one of the characters.

The whole story is that three teens are making an audition video for a reality tv show when they see an Amber Alert on a highway sign. Soon after they realize they are actually driving next to the car in the description. They decide to follow the car. Its kind of slow, but intriguing enough to continue watching. It gets really intense for a while and then the ending is really sad, but kind of happy.

Its a short movie, but I thought the story was good. While parts of the dialogue were poorly executed (I felt like a lot of it was the two main characters were just screaming over each other) the feelings conveyed through the yelling was realistic. Altogether a good movie.

Watch this movie. SO good. Tough subject matter for some, but such a good movie. Inspiring. Hmmm I actually don't know what to say about it right now. Just watch it.

Why I Love Movies

I love movies. I love books too, but movies (good movies) are so much easier to get lost into, and that's what I really love. The hour long adventure into another, better life. Life is hard, not just mine, but everyone's. Movies give you an escape. Somewhere to get away and pretend your own problems don't exist. You can watch someone fall in love, win the big game, save the world, fight for life and forget about your own struggles. You go through the ups and downs with the characters. You root for the good guys, its a great way to spend an hour or more. Even if you feel limited by your life, you can get lost in someone else's. You sit down and watch a movie and are transported to another world, another time, another life, and everything is possible there. Movies give you hope. When the guy gets the girl, or the BA troubled guy saves the world (again) you just feel happy. It makes whatever you are dealing with in life seem manageable. You feel like, well if James Bond can thwart SPECTRE (AGAIN) then I'm sure I can find a new job. Or if Beca can fall in love and make friends and find her self, all while being ridiculously funny, good looking, and outrageously talented, I'm sure I can meet a decent guy. So here's to all the people who spend hours every day feeding my addiction to movies and story telling. Thank you and may your marvelous work never cease. Also don't screw up any more of my favorite books in their adaptations. Thanks. Until next time.
